Destination Namaste’s very first Yoga and Spring Well being Retreat in Corsica 2016

It was a plan conceptualised while staring out at the horizon from a beach in Nice. Little did Lara and I know that in less than a year we would be celebrating the success of Destination Namaste’s very first Yoga and Well being retreat hosted in Figari, Corsica.

This being my first visit to the magnificent island of Corsica I could not have asked for a more perfect location to host our first retreat, nor could I have asked for a better partner in crime.

We had the most incredible time. Scouting the perfect beaches for evening classes, tucked away coves on the beach away from the wind or selecting hikes along the coastline for our guests.

Come drizzle, sunshine, wind or crisp mornings, each day was an absolute spoil for choice. Time and time again the island delivered beauty, variety and picture perfect scenery.

The accommodation was perfect. A breath taking view from the front terrace, afternoon swims and sun tanning around the salt pool, the aroma of red poppies, wild rosemary and lavender bushes surrounding. Only a short drive from some of the best beaches along the coastline, not far from Bonafacio and a mere ten minutes from the airport of Figari we could not have asked for more!

View From the Terrace

Even the villa itself was perfect for Yoga classes, some were held on the terrace, some outside at the pool and even enough space inside the lounge for the chillier evenings.

A warm, welcoming kitchen with a central table and outside dining area. It was a matter of minutes until we all settled in and felt right at home. A huge thank you to Lara for all her delicious, tasty and nutritious meals. Not too mention her knowledge of the language, local cuisine, ingredients and hidden away beaches, hikes.

With no shortage of natural produce, from wine to fruit, vegetables or cheese, we were never short on choice.

Like all things that take effort, planning, hard work and great enthusiasm, the time flew so so fast. We couldn’t believe when it was time to say our goodbyes.

On behalf of Destination Namaste we would like to extend a huge thank you to all our guests, the many people that supported our adventure, shared or published blog posts, took pictures, gave feedback and reviews, it would not have been such a magical experience without your presence.

We can’t wait to do it all over again!
